"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come."
The opportunity to give is provided by God and is really for our own benefit. We know from the Bible that our giving should be marked by generosity, not out of obligation but in recognition that it is God's and we are merely acting as stewards of what He provides. As we give our priorities are reshaped as we become more aligned with His heart. As you may know, there is great joy in giving and joining the Lord in his work, it moves us to release one of the things we hold so tightly, our money.
As you partner with Harmony financially please know we appreciate the trust you place in your sacrifice being used well. As we trust the Lord to provide and stand firm in our commitment to not spend more than we receive, we are dependent on the faithful, sacrificial gifts of God's people at Grace. What an honor to serve together as we purse our mission of Making and multiplying Christ-followers who magnify the glory of God.
Common Questions about Harmony Church e-Giving:
What is online giving?
Online Giving is the process where you authorize your bank to deduct a specified amount from your debit or credit card or your bank account. We have partnered with Authorize.net to make this process both simple and secure. You choose your giving frequency and amount, and you can make changes at any time. By setting up a profile and password, you can take advantage of the highly secure environment for your transaction and use the online tools for managing and monitoring your contributions. To make giving more convenient for you, we accept credit cards. We only encourage you to use this option if you pay off your balance each month.
Where does your money go?
All contributions are used to fulfill our mission of leading people on a life-changing journey to follow Jesus Christ. That includes investing in outreach efforts both in our community and globally. Your contribution helps us provide food to orphanages in Mexico, counsel hurting people, help folks win freedom from addictions, offer childrens ministry programming in our schools, plant new churches throughout the world and much more. Most important, we are sharing the good news of Jesus Christ with every ministry initiative. That, of course, is where people find hope for the future and the opportunity to experience real life change.
How should I begin giving?
The Bible refers to using 10% of your income as a basis for knowing how much to give. That's called tithing. However, if giving is a new discipline for you, you may want to begin at a lower percentage and work your way up. The key is to give regularly and generously. Why? Jesus said this, "Where your treasure is, there your heart will be also" (Matthew 6:21). If we become generous with our money, God promises our heart will follow. Additionally, 2 Corinthians 9 tells us "each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give; not reluctantly or under compulsions, for God loves a cheerful giver." In other words, giving is part of God's design for Christ-followers.
What is e-Giving and what are its benefits?
Today people are willing to have money transferred from their bank accounts to pay bills, insurance premiums, mortgages, fitness memberships and more. Online giving provides the same convenience for those who want to faithfully and consistently make a financial tithe or gift to the church.
e-Giving is not a replacement for our regular worship service offerings. Rather, it is an additional, convenient method to submit your regular offering. While we accept offerings via credit cards, we strongly suggest that no one give out of debt or use a credit card unless it is paid off every month.
Is e-Giving secure?
Yes. Harmony uses an established third-party vendor as an clearing house to transfer funds to our bank. Information submitted online is protected by physical, electronic and procedural safeguards in compliance with applicable federal and state regulations, including firewalls and data encryption.
Are there fees associated with each method of e-Giving?
Each type of e-Giving incurs some kind of fee. These fees will be absorbed by Harmony Church and not your account. Automatic withdrawals (ACH) incur a flat fee that is less than the percentage fee incurred with credit/debit card transactions. Therefore, automatic transfers (ACH) are the preferred method of e-Giving.
